Wednesday, January 17, 2024

In the difficult to navigate but fast 10th stage, is was once again the Honda factory riders who set tone at the front. Overall leader Ricky Brabec took the day’s victory, extending his lead in the overall standings to over 10 minutes and making him the clear favorite to win Dakar 24.

Kini Red Bull team rider Tobias Ebster also had a good day despite technical problems ans is getting closer to his first Dakar finish in his first Dakar: “I really had fun today and was going well. Unfortunately my navigation tower came loose and I had to stop twice and fix it with cable ties. But then I drove a really good pace and am really happy with the day. It was difficult to navigate today, especially in the canyons, but I got through without any navigation errors and without crashing. 2 more days and then we’ll have made it!” At the end of the day, the Tyrolean was able to extend his lead in the Malle Motul class to almost 50 minutes and secure his top 20 place in the overall standings with a 23rd place on the day.

Tomorrow’s 11th stage continues with a 480-kilometer special stage. It is the last tough stage before the end of this Dakar, will be very long and extremely rocky and could shake up the podium in all classes once again.
