About
Hansi, the eldest of the Kinigadner brothers, saw a KTM Penton 125cc enduro under the Christmas tree at the age of 15 in 1971. He soon made a name for himself in the Tyrolean motorcycle scene with spectacular appearances at skijoring events in winter and motocross in summer. Subsequently, he also became increasingly well-known throughout Austria. The national championship title in 1978 on a Montesa 250cc is the highlight of his career for the time being. The second national championship title followed in 1980, this time on a Kramer-Rotax 250cc. Hansi made a name for himself internationally in 1983 with a 5th place in the 500cc World Championship race in Sittendorf on a Husqvarna. His motorsport career came to an abrupt end at the age of 28 on October 14, 1984 at the ÖM race in Höhnhart. Hansi had a serious crash and has been in a wheelchair ever since due to paraplegia. Despite his tragic fate, he has not lost his passion for the sport. He continues to follow motorcycling with great interest and you can still meet him regularly at various motorsport events at home and abroad.
